OUR MISSION

To help students become lifelong learners by building the skills, confidence and independence they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Hi I’m Brenna

I started this business after noticing a pattern I couldn’t ignore. Over and over, I was working with smart, capable students who were quietly starting to shrink their goals, not because they lacked ability, but because school had slowly taught them to doubt themselves.

These were students who once loved learning, but now hesitated to raise their hand, avoided certain courses, or talked themselves out of paths they were genuinely interested in, simply because they believed they “weren’t a math person.”

I realized that the real risk wasn’t poor grades. It was the stories students were beginning to tell themselves about who they were and what they were capable of.

And I started Inquisia because I wanted to keep doors open for students, by giving them the skills, confidence, and learning strategies they need to go after what they truly want, without letting fear or self-doubt decide for them.

I’m a scientist at heart

I’ve always approached the world with a deep curiosity about how things work. I hold a degree in biology and math, and long before I became an educator and learning coach, I learned to ask careful questions, look for patterns, and let evidence guide the way I think about learning.

Early in my teaching, I became deeply curious about one question in particular: How does the brain actually learn? And more importantly, what can teachers do to support real, lasting learning, not just short-term performance?

When I began digging into the research, I was surprised by what I found. There are decades of rigorous learning science on how students build understanding, develop skills, and become independent learners. The problem? Very little of it has made its way into everyday classrooms.

That discovery changed the way I teach forever. Today, every part of my work is rooted in learning science. And a core part of Inquisia’s mission is not only to support students directly, but to help bring this knowledge into practice; so more teachers, parents, and students can benefit from what we already know about how learning truly works.

More than a teacher

You probably want to know a little bit about the teacher who will be working closely with your child, so here it goes.

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a teacher, and building Inquisia has truly been a dream come true. Helping students grow, build confidence, and discover what they’re capable of is work that I feel incredibly lucky to do.

But there’s more to me than the classroom. Here are a few things you might not learn
from my résumé:

  • I’m happiest when I’m outdoors hiking, paddling, or trying to identify a bird (I know well over a hundred species, and I’m still counting).
  • I’m a lifelong learner who loves reading non-fiction, but I’m also happy curled up with a good fantasy novel.
  • I’m also a certified yoga teacher, and I love bringing mindfulness, patience, and presence into everything I do as an educator.

In many ways, Inquisia reflects exactly who I am: curious, thoughtful, grounded in learning, and always excited to keep discovering something new.

Let’s keep doors open

My goal is simple: to help students build the skills and confidence they need to go after what they truly want, without letting fear or self-doubt decide for them.
If that’s something you want for your teen, I’d love to hear from you.
